Buying Teams

Attending U.S. food industry tradeshows gives the foreign buyer invaluable insight to American product offerings and an opportunity to meet new suppliers. For certain shows FAS offices will organize buying teams, assisting in travel arrangements, show registration, and interpretation. Past buying teams have attended the U.S. Food Export Showcase held in conjunction with the Food Marketing Institute’s Supermarket Show, the All American Food Fair held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association show, the Natural Products Expo, and the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit show.

Retail and Food Service Promotions
Activities to promote American food and agriculture,
including in-store promotions, restaurant menu promo-
tions and trade seminars, are normally conducted in
cooperation with the SRTGs and other Cooperators. Past
activities include numerous supermarket promotions,
promotions with prominent hotels, and baking and cook-
ing seminars with American chefs demonstrating the use
of American products.
